The grass at Evje is Pennlinks which is a creeping bent grass which is not as dense as many of the other creeping bent cultivars. Although Miklagaard was also seeded with a creeping bent cultivar it was seeded with two types of cultivars called Penncross and Cato (if I remember correctly). They now overseed their greens with Penn A4 which is probably the most agressive creeping bent cultivar on the market at the moment and many say is the best.

One reason the greens could be so good at Evje is that the rootzone passed the USGA testing perfectly (I sent the tests myself to Scotland) and not many golf courses in Norway manage that. Many golf courses get very close to the USGA recommendation but there are not many that actually pass the test.

It also helps to have knowledgeable greenkeepers that know how to look after that type of grass!!

The next nine holes to open are designed on the undulating part of the property and I also believe that these holes will look spectacular.
