I golf er utstyret temmelig viktig. Det inkluderer ballen også.
Noen av de beste spillerne bruker ikke Titleist. Årsaken er i første rekke at de
får betalt millioner av dollar for å spille på andre merker.
Hvor store forskjeller det er på ulike ballmerker, er ikke godt å si. Kanskje
forskjellene ikke er så store.
I en pressemelding fra Titleist heter det at Titleist-baller var det mest brukte
merket i årets major-turneringer:
• Titleist completes clean sweep as the overwhelming golf ball of choice at
each of this year’s Major Championships
• 81 of the 156-player field at the USPGA put their trust in the feel and
consistency of a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than three times the nearest competitor
with 26
• Titleist success stories at 2014 Major Championships mark milestones including
the 66th consecutive year that Titleist has topped the golf ball count at the
U.S. Open, and continue the record as the #1 choice at The Open Championship
since records began
• 15,441 players across worldwide professional tours have chosen a Titleist golf
ball so far in 2014, compared to 2,530 for the nearest competitor
The world’s leading golfers once again put their trust in the performance
excellence of Titleist golf balls at last week’s USPGA Championship, where the
Pro V1 and Pro V1x models were trusted by an overwhelming majority of the field.
This completes a clean sweep of Major Championships in 2014 where Titleist golf
balls have lead the counts, and follows on from long-running success stories
that continued at the U.S. Open and The Open Championship. It also builds upon
impressive counts and outstanding success for Titleist golf balls across
worldwide professional tours, and underlines their performance excellence as a
result of manufacturing and process excellence….
