Golf Son Muntaner er et flott anlegg. Flere baner på Mallorca oppgraderes nå

23.05 Mallorca:
Golfbanene fornyer seg stadig
Interessen for golf på Mallorca er stigende. Baner oppgraderes.

- 17. november 2016.

Mallorca opplever stigende golf interesse og oppgraderer banene sine.

Her er pressemeldingen:

BIG-MONEY UPGRADE FOR MALLORCA GOLF COURSES
Mallorca's golf clubs have seized their opportunity to capitalise on the island's soaring popularity with the announcement of more than €2m worth of investment in their courses.

Marriott Golf Son Antem is set to plough in €700,000 to make course improvements, Club de Golf Son Servera has invested €600,000, while Club de Golf Alcanada is spending a further €250,000 this year alone.

Golf Son Muntaner, one of the three Arabella Golf Mallorca courses near Palma, has recently closed its doors until October as it undergoes a revolutionary summer upgrade to replace all of its existing grass.

With Mallorca already reporting an increase in tourism in 2016, it all points towards an even better experience for golfers across the island as the golf clubs invest in the long-term future.

Golf Son Muntaner has embarked on an ambitious plan to reseed its entire course with Celebration Bermudagrass to create better playing conditions and improve the maintenance.

On its reopening later this year, golfers will experience smoother fairways and greens, while the course itself will require less water to keep it in perfect condition throughout the year.

During the recovery period, Golf Son Muntaner members and golfers on Mallorca
will still be able to enjoy the Arabella Golf experience at neighbouring courses Golf Son Vida and Golf Son Quint.

Club de Golf Son Servera - in the north east of Mallorca - has allocated €600,000 to its own project. The club house, pro shop and club entrance have already been remodelled and updated. On the course itself, tees and fairways have been reshaped, new GPS buggies will arrive in August and the greenkeeping staff will use state-of-the-art machinery to help keep the course in pristine condition.

At Golf Son Antem's 36-hole resort near Palma, there are some big changes planned as part of their revamp.

A new water-treatment plant is being built to enhance the irrigation at both courses, while four greens - two on each course - are set to be re-laid between June and September. There will also be further landscaping work and three of the lakes will be renovated to improve the general aesthetics.

At Club de Golf Alcanada - in the north of Mallorca - money is being spent on updating greenkeeping machinery to reach even higher standards of maintenance. There will also be improvements to the irrigation and buggy paths, while a new halfway house - the Lighthouse Bar - is also set to be built.

The investment is further evidence of the commitment from the members in the Asociación de Campos de Golf de Mallorca (ACGM) - the Golf Course Association of Mallorca -to maintain their courses to the highest standards possible and improve the experience for golfers.

The four courses are among 19 in the association. All of them are within one hour's drive on the island. Its profile will be boosted yet further as it hosts the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) later this year.
